How do u know what is good? Faith or Reason.
Knowing how to be good and how to live the good life, ethics, has been a key question since Plato's Republic. For people of faith, being good means to follow God's rules. People of reason need to determine what is good based on principles.
"Is Goodness without God Good Enough?" is the title of the debate featured here. Are people good because of God? Is it human nature to be good? Can you know what is good without God? Will it be the same? These are some of the topics that Paul Kurtz (of the Center for Inquiry), and William Lane Craig debate on video from Franklin and Marshall College. These are philosophical questions with real implications because "good" becomes law. What interpretation of good should laws reflect?
